Make sure only file types scanned by intelliscan is checked. I would check these settings in your agent configuration. On my computer which is a i7 and 8 gigs of RAM I don't notice anything but on some older machines I can tell the computer is working harder. The only time I notice any slowdown really is during the automatic scan that runs once a week. We have around 250 agents installed and have a weekly antivirus scan that runs on all of them. So far I haven't tested the firewall portion. We are only using the antivirus, web reputation, damage cleanup services, behavior monitoring though. We're running the latest version of OfficeScan 11 and have never really noticed any slowdown. Does it create any temp files/folders on the local machine? That may need to be excluded from scanning. My guess, based on what you shared already is that you need to exclude something locally for that application running from the server.

One of our main applications runs from a mapped network drive (F:) and it went from taking about 20 seconds to launch to now over 5 minutes (I timed it). In each case the machine slows down to the point where it's almost unusable.
